Minto Communities and Metropia have partnered to create Union-Village Towns, Markham’s newest master-planned townhome community. The York Downs Golf Course, situated west of Kennedy Road and north of 16th Avenue, is the site of this pre-construction project.
This brand-new townhouse neighborhood will be created in stages and will include over a thousand properties, some of which will be single-family homes, some of which will be rear-lane townhouses, and some of which will be typical townhomes with two to four bedrooms.
There will be four sections to the project. Every quadrant of the complex will include open space and parks with a new school in the center, making this an excellent place for families to live. There will be 2,295 new homes built in the area, which will house 7,422 people.
A variety of housing types will be available in the Union Village master-planned community, including 30′ single detached homes, typical townhouses, rear-lane towns, and townhouses built back-to-back. Growing families and young couples will appreciate the abundance of the room that these low-rise residences will provide.
Traditional towns will be 2,006 to 2,588 square feet, while back lanes towns will be 1,803 to 2,334 square feet. The 30′ single-family homes will be 2,092 to 3,212 square feet. The two towns will cover 1,267-1,906 square feet. In addition, mixed-use buildings, including retail, restaurants, amenities, and office space, are expected to be available to investors in the future.
This master-planned community is located in one of Markham’s most sought-after areas, with lots of green space and proximity to the city’s downtown. One of the primary reasons young professionals choose to settle in Markham is the abundance of career options.
In addition to being in the heart of the entertainment district, Unionville is also near Downtown Markham’s current construction, including restaurants and the Markham Pan Am Centre.
Main Street Unionville is well-known for its array of boutique stores and its dining and drinking establishments. There are many flocks to restaurants and bars like Next Door Restaurant, Unionville Arms Pub & Grill, and Il Postino in this charming and attractive area.
Because the Unionville GO station is nearby, the Union Village development promises to be easily accessible by public transportation. Highway 404 and Highway 407 are also nearby, making commuting a breeze for motorists. The location presently has a Walkscore of 15 and a Transit Score of 35, although this is expected to increase if new construction is added to the area.
The last point to make is that despite the community’s proximity to the city, the surrounding area offers a broad range of entertainment options. In addition, it’s just a 15-minute drive to the newly renovated Hillcrest Mall. The retail area at this shopping complex is 585,758 square feet, and there are now 135 shops there.
