The company’s journey started with Steve Gupta(Dr.) acquiring a truck pit stop in Port Hope in the year 1979 and the unbounded desire he carried with him every day he turned up for work. That truck stop continued to expand, and soon a hotel and cafe were built, laying the groundwork for what it is today.
The company has become Canada’s most extensive and varied real estate company. Easton’s Group of Hotels, Rogue Insight Capital, and The Gupta Family Foundation are now part of the Gupta Group network of enterprises and organizations. The Gupta Group, Easton’s Group of Hotels, and The Gupta Family Foundation are led by Dr. Gupta’s daughter, Reetu Gupta.
Easton has successfully grown into the national pacesetter in hotel management and development under the leadership of Reetu. Hinging on a portfolio that includes about 19 hotels, six currently under development, representing renowned brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Starwood, and thorough plans to continue building hotels in locations along the region of Ontario and beyond, notably bringing the first hotel to the province of Ontario.

The Upper Rose Collection on Bloor marks the change of a neighborhood set to soar to new heights. The beautiful downtown Toronto skyscraper is centered by a new lifestyle hotel, Canopy by Hilton, welcoming tourists and residents.
King blue Toronto: King Blue is a two-tower development sited at King West and Blue Jays Way in Toronto’s King Street West neighborhood. Following the sale of the first tower, the buyers contacted the Easton’s Group of Hotels, and the company sold the King Blue Toronto to Greenland Holding Group Co., a Fortune 500 company based in Shanghai.
Yorkdale residential and hotel project: The Gupta Group sold the previously proposed development at 3450 Dufferin St., and Fitzrovia Real Estate acquired it in September 2020.
The location of a Holiday Inn is owned and operated by The Gupta Group and Easton’s Group of Hotels. The site will now be a three-tower, all-rental development with 766 units scheduled for completion in 2024. The Gupta Group made the sale as a policy move to ensure maximum return on capital.
