Oshawa’s Continuous Growth
The city was synonymous with General Motors [1], and it was the automotive capital in Ontario, Canada. But General Motors has scaled back, and now the plant is closed. It wasn’t easy to imagine how Oshawa would lose many high work skills and high-paying manufacturing jobs. Together with a booming real estate market, Oshawa City has adapted. One of its accolades is that in 2016, the city was ranked sixth in Canada for full-time employment and is now recognized as an education and health sciences center. With three post-secondary educational facilities – Trent University Durham, Durham College, and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, the future looks bright in Oshawa, as does the real estate market. Students and staff at Durham College, Trent University, and other universities will find this address accessible.
