What makes this unique is that instead of being put inside the windows, the sunshades will be placed on the exterior for two purposes – the first is to cut the solar heat gain outside the window and the second is for aesthetic purposes. State-of-the-art sunshades that will be used change throughout the day, following the direction of the sun.

Location and Neighborhood

Situated in the city’s west end, the Davie Village Neighborhood is home to the city’s LGBT Subculture and as such, becomes a vibrant neighborhood teeming with restaurants, shops, and services.

The neighborhood celebrates festivals such as the Davie Street Pride Festival celebrated in Pride Month. Davie Day is also celebrated yearly, held in September, to celebrate local businesses and the community itself. 

Accessibility/Highlights

Right outside on Davie St is a bus stop station. 10 minutes away are two train stations: Vancouver City Centre Canada Line and Granville Expo SkyTrain. Amenities like restaurants and cafes are lined along Davie St, making them easily accessible by the residents.
