Introducing The Residences at Gordon Woods
The Residences at Gordon Woods is a new condo and townhouse preconstruction project located on 2120 Hurontario St, Mississauga. This project is being developed by Edenshaw Developments Limited, the development team responsible for a number of the city’s beautiful towers, such as 625 Yonge Street Towers on 625 Yonge Street, TANU Condos on 21 Park Street East, Chaz Yorkville on 45 Charles Street East, and Alto on 1544 Dundas Street West. This mixed-use development will be at the centre of the city’s revitalization in the Cooksville, Mississauga neighbourhood. The architectural layout will consist of a beautiful podium equipped with retail space and outdoor dining, as well as a landscaped courtyard. This beautiful tower will bring a modern look to the downtown area when it is ready for occupancy in 2023. Being located at 2120 Hurontario Street, places it right in the middle of the picturesque shopping district, located north of the QEW. Lastly, the developers proposal outlines two high-rises that will be anchored by a podium, space for retail shops, and a block that will house three-storey townhomes.
An urban boulevard will be created as a result of the landscaped courtyard, which can only be accessed from Hurontario Street. The pedestrian friendly ambiance formed by the tower’s aesthetics will only be amplified by the gorgeous trees, outdoor dining options, and the simple access to condominiums glass-walled lobby and retail units. The structure of the lobby will benefit from the night’s illumination, which will serve as a visual landmark for the surrounding area. The Residences at Gordon Woods will compliment the vibrant rejuvenation taking place within the Cooksville neighbourhood. Incredible news for all commuters is the fact that the area will be home to two high- profile transit projects. The first of which is the Hurontario LRT station, which will run through Mississauga’s city centre, and connect with Square One. Interestingly enough, one of the LRT stops includes the doorstep of the Gordon Woods. In addition to that, the Cooksville Go Train Station is only a short drive away. Thankfully, the province of Ontario has proposed a plan to make GO service 24 hours, where it will run on 15-minute intervals. Drivers will not be missing out on the excitement either, as the QEW is only a short distance from the tower, giving residents easy access to many of the luxuries found across the GTA. Individuals looking to start a family will be overjoyed by the number of reputable schools in the area, such as Mineola Public School, St. Luke Catholic Elementary School, Forest Avenue Public School, Kenollie Public School, Lorne Park Secondary School, Port Credit Secondary School, and Cawthra Park Secondary School. The Residences at Gordon Woods is also located near a major hospital, as well as a variety of urban amenities—making it a great spot for residents regardless of their interests.
Another incredible benefit of the area is its close proximity to Square One, the city’s upscale shopping centre, which is home to over 360 retailers. These retails include GoodLife Fitness, Club Monaco, Hugo Boss, Holt Renfrew, and Coach to name a few.
The towers will have 594 units, and will stand 36 and 22 floors, while being anchored by a six-storey podium that will be home to a lobby, as well as retail units. This condominium will consist of a luxurious canopy element, as it curves toward
Hurontario Street. The top section of the tower will include glass fins, which like the glass-walled lobby, will illuminate at night, creating a dazzling beacon that will be visible for onlookers and residents alike. The other tower will have similar
elements, as it will contrast beautifully to the glass-walled condo structures, and will include a podium that will be constructed with a number of precast shapes, which will provide adequate separation from the residential towers.
The 7 th floor will include a glass reveal that houses amenity space for occupants. The townhomes will stand 3-storeys high, and will occupy the western region of the tower, as it will front Grange Drive. These homes will be created with a modern design, which will contain a series of interlocking frames, giving it a unique, geometrical façade.
